Celebrating Canada’s Long History

July 2, 10:30 am. We gather with each other and with Treaty Canoe. ربح فلوس We will sing together, hear readings from Ryan McMahon, Christi Belcourt and the Gospel. We will reflect on our country, history and ourselves and respond as we are called and able. We will share the gifts of the land and of human hands. Please join us.

We gather in respect of the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Haudenosaunee and the Ojibwe and allied nations to peaceably share and care for the lands and resources around the Great Lakes and in gratitude for the current caretakers of this territory the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation.

Truth and Reconciliation Commission Call to Action #59

We call upon church parties to the Settlement Agreement to develop ongoing education strategies to ensure that their respective congregations learn about their church’s role in colonization, the history and legacy of residential schools, and why apologies to former residential school students, their families, and communities were necessary.
