Trans Esteban: An Oasis

One day in spring, I received a phone call asking me for a meeting. Three people had seen a sign for our Hispanic Mass as they passed by our church building. Of course, I marked my calendar and scheduled a meeting. The day and time arrived and punctually arrived three women who wanted to know if they could attend the Mass without being rejected and expelled. They had already experienced negative situations in other denominations in the city. I invited them to our regular Mass on Sunday at 2 pm. The reception by the congregation was great, and one of the women shared her testimony and immediately after her words, she received hugs of support and our three new guests became members. Service: 11:00 AM in Area 26 at High Park, this is the only service on June 18. This will be a fun, intergenerational service in High Park. The music will be contemporary and provided by the Fallen Angles band.

  • Picnic: The parishes of San Esteban and St. Paul’s will be joining us. The three communities will be provide: BBQ’s, beverages, hamburgers & veggie burgers along with meat & veggie hotdogs.

  • Please bring a picnic side dish to share with a serving utensil. Plates, napkins, & cutlery will be provided. You may want to bring a folding chair or blanket to sit on.

Service: 11:00 AM in Area 26 at High Park, this is the only service on June 19. Sherman will coordinate a team to provide a bilingual expression of worship that includes all ages.
