Would that [...] Sermon for the Second Sunday of Easter (11 April 2010) by Sherman Hesselgrave Readings: Acts 5:27-32 Psalm 150 Revelation 1:4-8 John 20:19-31 O breaking and entering God: The Parable of the Prodigal Son, or as I have come to call it, the Parable of the Compassionate Parent, is found only in the Gospel of Luke, and so, unlike many of the other parables of Jesus, we encounter it only once in the lectionary cycle. He is a former Executive Director of the Henri Nouwen Society of Canada and a specialist in spirituality.
